BodyWorks

BodyWorks is an Outreach Program of the UBC School of Kinesiology. Our adult-oriented facility incorporates evidence-based practices into our programs and services, in addition to facilitating ongoing education and training to UBC undergraduate and graduate students. Our student based staffing and non-competitive classes create an enriching and supportive environment for all participants and the student community.

What are three traits that you look for in a student volunteer/worker?

We seek individuals who embody a growth mindset, embracing challenges as opportunities to learn and improve. We value adaptability, as the ability to adjust to new situations and problem-solve in dynamic environments is key to success. Lastly, we prioritize a team-oriented mindset, where collaboration, communication, and support for one another create a positive and productive atmosphere. These qualities ensure our volunteers and staff contribute meaningfully while continuously developing both personally and professionally.

What are the main values of your company?

  • Education & Lifelong Learning – Commitment to evidence-based practices, ongoing education, and student development.

  • Leadership & Professional Growth – Encouraging student leadership and skill-building in kinesiology.

  • Community & Support – Creating an enriching and inclusive environment for participants and students.

What is a piece of advice that you would give to students attending the KUS career fair?

Every experience is an opportunity for learning and self-development.
